Welcome to Writing in Blue Ink!

Come along as we bring back our voice – the human voice – to the world of business communication.

These days, AI can churn out thousands of words in seconds. Impressive? Sure. Helpful? Not always. But is it bad to use AI? Of course not. I use it as a collaborator, too. It’s a great tool that makes things more efficient, but that doesn’t mean we should lose our voice in the process. We don’t want to sound like robots now, do we?

I have been asked more than once if I’m worried about being replaced by machines. And I always answer that I’m not. Why? Because writing isn’t just about stringing words together. It’s about meaning, intent, and connection – something that can’t be automated. AI can’t replicate the humanity in writing. What truly resonates and builds trust and credibility is our unique voice.

This is the heart of human-centered writing. On one hand, it’s using and preserving our authentic voice. On the other hand, it’s remembering that there’s a person on the other end of every email, message, and report.

Writing becomes more powerful when we think about the people we’re trying to reach; that is, when we make the effort to connect, understand, and be authentic. We don’t need to sound perfect all the time. It’s more important to be clear, thoughtful, and real, especially in professional spaces where communication often feels distant or templated.

If you’re ready to write with more purpose, more clarity, and more of yourself, let’s get started.
